Behold, there were brought before him, at eventide coursers of the highest breeding, and swift of foot;

Safinat: literally, horses that stand, when at
ease, on three legs, firmly planted, with the hoof of the
fourth leg resting lightly on the ground.
This would imply breeding and a steady temper, to
match with their quality of swiftness mentioned in the
next clause.
